The SKILLSAFE EU Project: Enhancing Safety Standards

Launched in September 2024, the SKILLSAFE EU project is co-funded by the European Union LIFE Programme. These guidelines will cover the entire product lifecycle—design, manufacturing, installation, and disposal.

 

Key objectives of the project include:

• Data Collection: Gathering information from manufacturers and installers to identify safety challenges and best practices.
• Development of Unified Safety Guidelines: Creating comprehensive guidelines based on expert recommendations and data to ensure safe handling across the product lifecycle.
• Pilot Projects: Testing the guidelines in five European countries to refine safety protocols.
• Risk Assessment: Conducting assessments to evaluate hazards and ensure safety standards are up-to-date.

 

Project Partners and Funding

The SKILLSAFE EU project is led by Daikin Europe, with four other partners from three European countries. With a budget of €1.3 million, the project runs until June 2027, aiming to accelerate heat pump adoption and support the EU’s goal of decarbonizing the heating and cooling sector.
